Advent is a season of preparation as we await the coming of Christ. We hope you take a few moments out of your busy schedule to read through all that Trinity Church has to offer throughout Advent and Christmas to prepare and celebrate well as a community of faith.

Rotary Lights Display
For the first time ever, Trinity will be participating in the Rotary Lights display at Swan Park... but we need your help! Our Tree of Hope will be a project for our entire congregation AND community to participate in. We are asking the simple question, "What do you hope for?" Click the button below and your answer will be added to the tree. You can also write your answer on the Trinity Trivia board in November. The community can add their own answers throughout the season using a QR code that will be part of our display. We already have FIFTY ornaments ready for the tree so far, and we HOPE you'll participate in helping us to celebrate and spread hope during the holiday season, too!

Studies & Groups
Why not try out a study or group as a way to pause and reflect during this busy season of the year? There are a variety of times and topics throughout the week, and you can attend in Cozy Corner or via Zoom.
Redemption of Scrooge: Mondays at 6:30pm & Wednesdays at 10:30am
Join Sally Cupery for a four-week study (beginning November 28 & 30) on Redemption of Scrooge by Matt Rawle. The book is currently available in the church office for $10. Find the teachings of Jesus in the words of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. Along with Scrooge, we meet the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future and in the process learn about living with and for others in a world blessed by Jesus. Rediscover and reinvigorate your Christian faith this Advent and Christmas season and look at this familiar classic through the lens of faith.
Prayer + Share: Tuesdays at 11:00am
Join Deb Paul and our Prayer & Share group to reflect on the Daily Advent Devotions emails, pray together, and listen to contemplative music. There is no need to attend every single week. Come on by any week you're available!
Thursday Devotions: Thursdays at 2:00pm
The Thursday Devotions group will continue reflecting on their lectionary-based daily devotional by The Upper Room called Disciplines. As with Prayer + Share, there is no need to attend every single week. Stop by any time you're available!
Supporting our Community
For many, this is a season of great generosity. Trinity Church is here to support those in our congregation and community who need a little extra care or support during the holidays in many ways. If you are interested in helping or would like more information about any of these opportunities, please contact the church office.
- WeCare Packages
Trinity Church is delighted to share a special care package of gifts and goodies with the homebound members and friends of our congregation this Christmas. Help out by creating Giving Plates and Wreath Rings with the Cozy Crafters on November 17 & December 1 (10:30am-12:30pm), or be on the delivery team on Wednesday, December 14 (beginning at 11:00am).
- Giving Tree
Purchase "gift cards" for people in need off the wall in the narthex or give to our Mission of the Month during the month of November.
- Warming Tree
We are collecting hats, mittens, gloves, socks and underwear... anything that keeps people warm and comfortable during this cold, wet time of the year. Bring them to the tree in the narthex on Sundays or during the week.
- Christmas Cards
Cards signed by Trinity folks will be sent to the residents of nursing homes and care facilities throughout our Beaver Dam community. Contact Deb Paul or pick up a bag of cards on Sunday if you'd like to help!
- Santa's Hometown Holiday Adventure
"Santa's Workshop" will be back in business as Trinity Church once again joins this city-wide event hosted by the Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerce. On December 3 from 10:00am-12:00pm, families in our community will be able to drive through Trinity's parking lot to meet Frosty, Rudolph, and even some of Santa's elves! We anticipate approximately 300 children stopping by, and each one will receive a special bag with small gifts from our church family.
- Ecumenical Choir at Red Kettle Concert
As part of this year’s Red Kettle Concert on December 4, a combined ecumenical choir will open and close the performance this year. Our music director, Mike Mangan, will be directing the choir, which will perform “Christmas Sanctus” and “All My Heart This Night Rejoices.” All community members are welcome to sing in the choir. There will be two dedicated rehearsals for the choir: Monday, November 21 & Tuesday, November 29 (both at 7:00pm). Both rehearsals will be here at Trinity Church. Audio rehearsal tracks and sheet music are available in advance by emailing music@trinityumbd.org. We hope you can join us!
- Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Take a shift or two on Saturday, December 3 to ring bells for the Salvation Army of Dodge County indoors at Beaver Dam Food Pride! CLICK HERE to sign up or contact the church office. If this date does not work in your schedule, consider signing up for an open slot at RegisterToRing.com.
Advent & Christmas Decorating
All ages are needed to help prepare Trinity's worship space for Advent and Christmas on Sunday, November 20 at 4:00pm. If you enjoy stringing lights, putting up ornaments, or fluffing wreaths - this event is for you!

Please note that we will have just one worship service on December 25 & January 1 at 9:30am. Our usual two worship service schedule and Sunday School classes will resume on January 8 when we will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion for the month of January.
Inclement Weather Policy
Weekdays: If the Beaver Dam Unified School District (BDUSD) closes for the day due to weather, ALL ACTIVITIES at Trinity Church will be officially cancelled for the day. This includes youth activities, committee meetings, Boy Scouts, community events, and any external groups that meet at Trinity Church. When after school activities are cancelled due to weather, all evening activities are also cancelled.
Sunday Mornings: A decision will be made by the pastor in consultation with worship personnel by 7:00am if in-person worship will be cancelled.
All cancellations will be announced in a variety of ways. Those ways include:

Please put safety first and use your best judgement when deciding to attend weekend activities and worship services. If you feel you cannot travel to worship safely, please join our worship service through live streaming on our website or the radio broadcast.
Masks are Required in the Balcony
For those who are concerned about the spread of colds, influenza, COVID, and other illnesses, the balcony remains a mask-required area of our worship space. If this is something that would help family, friends, or a neighbor feel more comfortable worshiping in-person during the holidays, please let them know!
